About New Opportunities
Safe Housing. Real Accountability. A Fresh Start.
Since 2017, New Opportunities has provided structured sober living homes for men in Maryville, TN — giving men the foundation they need to rebuild their lives after addiction or incarceration.
Our mission
More Than a Place to Sleep
New Opportunities was founded on a simple belief: that every man deserves a real chance at a sober, productive life. We are not a treatment facility — we are a home. A structured, accountable, community-driven home where the work of recovery happens every single day.
Since opening our doors in 2017, we have helped men coming out of incarceration and drug and alcohol treatment programs find stable footing. We provide the structure, the community, and the accountability that makes long-term sobriety possible.
How it works
What to Expect as a Resident
Life at New Opportunities is structured by design. Every expectation exists to protect residents and build the habits that support lasting recovery.
Move-In
Residents must arrive detoxed and pass a drug test on entry. An admin fee and first week of rent are due at move-in. We work with those who cannot pay upfront.
Daily Life
Residents are expected to work full time — or volunteer 12 hours per week if disabled. Weekly house meetings, mandatory savings, and on-time rent are part of the program.
Community Recovery
Every resident attends at least 3 outside recovery meetings per week — NA, AA, or Celebrate Recovery. Sobriety is not optional; random drug and alcohol screenings happen at any time.
House Rules
Residents are expected to treat the home and their housemates with respect. Violations of sobriety or house rules result in immediate removal. The safety of every resident depends on everyone holding the line.
